About us

The CoderDojo movement believes that an understanding of programming languages is increasingly important in the modern world, that it’s both better and easier to learn these skills early, and that nobody should be denied the opportunity to do so. To that end, we’ve built a global network of free, volunteer-led, community-based programming clubs for young people. Anyone aged seven to seventeen can visit a Dojo where they can learn to code, build a website, create an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative, and social environment.

CoderDojo Kells meets in the Kells Peoples' Resource Centre located in the Old Carrick school on Lord Edward Street. Attendance is free of charge. We generally operate sessions in blocks of six or eight weeks, however we may run the occasional standalone session during the year. As capacity in the resource centre room can be limited by space and/or the availability of tables, chairs, and other equipment we kindly request that would be attendeees register in advance. Registration to attend is done online and opens a number of weeks before the first session commences.

If you would like to be one of the first to hear when registration for a new block of sessions opens, we recommend signing up to our mailing list. After you complete the sign up form please watch for an email containing a link to confirm your subscription. Please keep in mind that this confirmation email might be accidentally delivered to your spam/junk folder. Please also note that the mailing list is separate to registration for sessions and events.
